This past weekend, Bonipak had the privilege of welcoming thousands of visitors through our gates for Santa Barbara County Farm Day. From families exploring our fields to neighbors touring our cooling facility, the day was filled with connection, learning, and plenty of fresh produce.

Farm Day is made possible through the vision and leadership of SEEAG (Students for Eco-Education and Agriculture), a nonprofit dedicated to bridging the gap between farmers and the community. Their mission to increase agricultural literacy is one we proudly share, and it was inspiring to see their work come to life as guests experienced firsthand what it takes to bring food from our fields to their tables.

Created to give the public a behind-the-scenes look at local agriculture, Santa Barbara County Farm Day is more than an event, but a celebration of the hardworking people, innovative technology, and deep-rooted traditions that sustain our region. For Bonipak, it was a chance to showcase the dedication of each department, from planting and harvesting to food safety and cooling, while highlighting the legacy of four generations of farming in Santa Maria.

The day was filled with memorable moments. Visitors had the chance to see our innovative harvesting and weeding machinery in action, bringing modern innovation into focus alongside traditional farming practices. Tours of our cooling facility offered a glimpse into the technology that ensures our produce maintains its freshness from field to store. And throughout the event, families enjoyed connecting with our team, visiting with 10 local vendors, and taking home plenty of fresh produce. In total, we were proud to share more than 15,000 pounds of vegetables with the community.

By the end of the day, well over 3,000 people had experienced Bonipak firsthand. What stood out most was the sense of community, the curiosity of children seeing tractors up close, and the excitement of neighbors learning about the journey their food takes before reaching their plates.

Farm Day reminds us why we farm. It’s about nourishing families, supporting our community, and caring for the land so future generations can do the same. We’re grateful to SEEAG, our Bonipak team, and everyone who joined us for making Farm Day 2025 a true celebration of agriculture on the Central Coast.
