Job Title: Production Supervisor

Department:  Betteravia Farms Production

Location:  Santa Maria and Other Growing Location

Reports To: Vice President of Farm Operations and District Owner

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overall management of assigned commodities/area
    • Development, Supervision and Oversight of;
      • Proficient knowledge and experience with Crop Trac to schedule assigned crops/areas
      • Planting and Pre-Irrigation schedules
      • Ground prep, Chopping, Listing, Irrigation, Pre-irrigation, Cultivations, Fertilizer applications, Weeding, Thinning
      • Quick tests –Ensure tests are completed and proper levels of fertilizer/chemicals are applied
      • Planning and budgeting
      • Planting schedule and execution
      • Production management
      • Ensuring routine communications with Pest Control Advisors
      • Ensuring coordination between ranches of all ranch assets; Equipment, Tape, Labor, Etc.
      • Coordinating and Collaborating with Harvest Department to determine harvest date(s) and Irrigation schedules
      • Ensuring Inventory Management of Fertilizer and Pesticide Usage
      • Ensure timely communications with Cost Analyst
      • Other duties as assigned
  • Work with Production Manager on all crop analytics and district plan development
    • Establish, track and meet budget on;
      • Planting location timing and varieties
      • Labor Management and Tracking
      • Develop and review efficiency Reports
      • Analysis of input costs
      • Yield evaluation
      • Evaluation of growing practices
    • Assessment of growing practices
  • Responsible for the Administration and Oversight of the following:
    • Ensuring new hires have completed new hire paperwork and compliance training has been completed prior to start of work (no exception)
    • Understand and utilize Pet Tiger Capabilities to enhance efficiencies and ensure payroll accuracy
    • Ensuring compliance in Food Safety, Worker Safety, Employee Relations, and all Governmental Regulatory Compliance
    • Ensuring timely attendance and participation of all required company meetings
    • Ensuring communications and tasks are understood by all personnel and executed timely and accurately
    • Ensuring adherence to all company policies and procedures
    • Ensuring recruitment, training, and performance assessments of designated personnel
