Job Title: Dispatcher

Location: Santa Maria, CA

Classification: Non-Exempt

Salary Range: $18-$24 DOE


The Cooler Operations Team is comprised of seven essential functions. These are Logistics (internal/external fleet), Supply Chain, Receiving, Cooling, Warehousing, Shipping, and Facility Maintenance and Engineering. The team is heavily focused on the receiving, cooling, and shipping of product in the shortest amount of time to ensure finished product is handled according to specifications. Functional support areas to these functions are Logistics, Warehousing, Supply Chain, and Maintenance. Combined the Cooler Operations will work together as one to ensure all internal and external customer needs are met in the highest regard for people safety, food safety, quality, and external customer needs


It is the responsibility of the Dispatcher I to follow work instructions and complete all assigned tasks. It is also the responsibility of the Dispatcher I to check-in trucks, check order availability, backing trucks up with supervisors/coordinator approval. Assign trucks for loading and check-out trucks with approval of supervisor/coordinator. Help with counting inventory, closing inventory and trouble shooting inventory. Work with Sales Department to manage truck flow, assign orders, receive product from purchased produce or Bonifresh and coordinate loaders with loading priorities. Secondary duties during the slow season may include maintenance, painting, etc.


  • Ability to use Microsoft Excel/Word programs
  • May be required to work day or night shifts and weekends.
  • AS 400 /Agos/Scanner guns or other computer systems
  • Use of Internet for company function only
  • Communicates on radio, phones, Jabber etc.
  • Maintain records of shipped products.
  • Ability to read/write coherently/bilingual, English/Spanish preferred.
  • General house keeping and office organization.
  • May be assigned to other projects, as needed, at the discretion of the supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS: (On the Job Training Provided)

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Must have strong ability to multi-task, stay organized and think on their feet.
  • Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States


  • English (reading, writing, and speaking)
  • Spanish (intermediate speaking)


  • Must be able to work various hours and days.
  • No travel is required
  • During off season, may do maintenance work or painting.
  • May take orders and close orders, including counting orders taking inventory and running reports.
