Staying abreast of technology is standard procedure at Bonipak.
If new procedures or materials are developed to enhance any part
of our operation, we're interested. After thorough testing and
evaluation, we will implement new technology that shows benefits
to the operation. Through the years we have adopted many new
technological advances in farming and cold storage, all for the
betterment of quality products and the operation that produces them.

Satellite imaging gives us the ability to view any piece of our
farmland and easily detect inconsistencies in water, fertilizers or
pesticides. The images can show hot spots, cold spots or other
abnormalities that, in the past, were much harder to detect.
With speed and pinpoint accuracy, these inconsistencies can be
identified and treated in a timely manner.

Global Positioning Systems have given us great intelligence and
ultimate control over everything that happens in our fields. Being
able to properly measure herbicides and pesticides ensures that
correct amounts are in use, and if there is a problem, we're able to
locate it easily. GPS equipment on our tractors feed computers
with information about various applications and when they were
used. This information is invaluable when it comes to traceability
of any application and where it occurred. Obviously, our GPS
system is a key component to Bonipak's food safety program.

Bonipak is constantly evaluating new ways to improve the
efficiency or the quality of all our operations. Our water filtration
system, which is already at the highest of standards, is being
improved to even greater quality. We will see additional
benefits to our icing capabilities and sanitation procedures
through the new filtration system.

New electrical management systems are in place where usage
of electricity has been optimized. Motors are staged to power
up rather than all starting at once, reducing our peak usage
times. We've added a new water chiller to our ice making
facility to increase the amount of ice we make while reducing
the electricity to produce it.

New materials in packaging, from corrugated to plastic are
always being evaluated. Bonipak has solid partnerships with
the top packaging companies and is eager to run trials in
evaluating a promising development. We look at things like
oxygen transfer rates, new bagging technology and innovation
carton design, all in an effort to improve quality and shelf life.
