Founded by brothers, Milo Jr., Patrick Ferini, and Henri
Ardantz in the early 1960's, Betteravia Farms has been the
farming entity of Bonipak. Farming on over 14,000 crop
acres in the Santa Maria area, and 3,000 more in California
and Arizona, Betteravia Farms ranks 16th nationally in total
acres farmed.
Being the majority landowner, Bonipak has total control of
all operations from growing, packing, processing and shipping.
It is a rare company indeed, that can boast these capabilities.

The Santa Maria Valley is a very prime location. Geologically,
it is categorized as a fertile alluvial plain in California's central
coast.
The soil is rich in nutrients for growing and the weather
year-round is ideal from the beach to the foothills.

For three generations this land has been tended with the
utmost care. Because of responsible growing practices by true
stewards of the land, most Bonipak commodities are harvested
twice a year.

Each year a coveted, National Grower Achievement Award
is given to identify growers that are role models for growers
everywhere. The award is based upon marketing efforts,
adaptation to technology and industry leadership. The winner
is selected by getting nominations from state and regional
associations, suppliers, growers and other industry allies
across the country.

The winner of the 2003 Grower Achievement Award was
Betteravia Farms. Regular investment in leading-edge
technologies, an industry leading stance on food safety and
food security, community and industry involvement, and a
commitment to environmental stewardship are just some of
the many reasons that Betteravia Farms was selected as
the national winner of the 2003 Grower Achievement Award.
"For three generations we have toiled endlessly to ensure the
finest, best-tasting produce possible." says Alain Pincot,
manager of Betteravia Farms planting/transplanting operation.
"And we are committed to continue doing so for generations to
come. We have a passion for farming and serving our
customers that shows in all Bonipak products."
